Maria on Ellen

Finally, the wish of the newest Filipina pride, Maria Aragon, comes true as she meets and performs for Ellen on her show. Another proud moment for all of us and a BIG Thank you to Ellen for accommodating Maria after Charice and Arnel Pineda (with Journey).

Maria Aragon and Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga herself tweeted and shared this vid of a cute 10 year old Filipina, Maria Aragon. As Gaga said, "Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future." Mabuhay ka, Maria! The Philippines is proud of you!

And while I was making this blog, stumbled upon this new vid with Maria and Lady Gaga finally able to talk to each other, and Gaga even inviting Maria to sing with her.

Not so long ago, a Filipina named Charice sang a duet with her idol Celine Dion.. Very soon, a little Filipina named Maria will be going on stage with her idol, Lady Gaga ♥

Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!
Thank you Celine and Gaga :)

Practical Commandments

1) Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a “steering wheel” that directs the right path throughout.

2) So a car’s windshield is so large and the rearview mirror is so small? It’s because our past is not as important as our future. So, look ahead and move on.

3) Friendship is like a book. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

4) All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy them; they will not last forever. If going wrong, don’t worry, they can’t last long, either.

5) Old friends are gold! New friends are diamond! If you get a Diamond, don’t forget the gold! Because to hold a diamond, you always need a base of gold!

6) Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, “Relax, sweetheart, it’s just a bend, not the end!

7) When God solves your problems, you have faith in his abilities. When God doesn’t solve your problems He has faith in your abilities.

8) A blind person asked St. Anthony: “Can there be anything worse than losing eyesight?” He replied: “Yes, losing your vision!”

9) When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them. And sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

10) Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles, it takes away today’s peace.

Meaningful Valentine's

Yesterday was a very special and meaningful Valentine's day for me spending it with special children who, despite their handicap, were genuinely happy. Tried my darnest best to hold back my tears as I sang for them & their families. Ended the day with a simple dinner with my family.

Thank you dear Lord for all the miracles
I sometimes am blind to see,
give me the awareness
of the many gifts from Thee :)

Just the Way You Are

I'm not a fan of Bruno Mars - well, not yet anyway - but I so love his first hit song that swept the world. And because today is Valentine's Day, I would like to share his live performance at the Grammy Nominations Concert 2010, a beautiful performance of a beautiful song which by the way just won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in the 2011 Grammy Awards.

And yeah, just a quick trivia: His real name is Peter Gene Hernandez and he's half-Filipino.

The Amazing Spiderman

This is the first shot of Andrew Garfield in full costume for the new movie, The Amazing Spiderman, scheduled for a July 3, 2012 release.

Yeah, it really looks like it came out straight from the comic books, and I personally think it looks a lot better than Tobey Maguire's costume in the previous 3 movies.

ThunderCats Test Footage

Almost four years ago, Warner Bros. announced that they would be turning the popular 1980s Thundercats animated series into a CGI-animated feature. The plot was to have focused on Lion-O coming of age as the leader of the Thundercats. The project apparently never took off, but here's a sample of what that project could have been. Enjoy!

X-Men: First Class

Another movie that I'm waiting for is the sort of origin story of how Xavier's School Gifted Youngsters came about, and what happened to Charles and Erik that they became mortal enemies from best friends.

Depressing News

The past 2 days have been depressing - REALLY DEPRESSING. Two untimely and shocking deaths hogging the news the past couple of days. First is the suicide of Sec. Angelo Reyes who shot himself infront of his mother's grave with his sons a few meters away, and second, the kidnap and murder of a 6-year old girl by a Filipina and her Caucasian companion.

What is happening to the world?! The chaos in Egypt, the floods in Australia, the unusually cold weather in the Philippines, the snow storm in New Jersey, suicides and murders!

God save us!

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

Cavs Karma

The Cleveland Cavaliers have just broken the NBA record for the longest losing streak in history - 25 straight loses as of the moment. Call it what you want, but I call it karma after their proud owner, Dan Gilbert, publicly criticized and lambasted King James before the season started. Everyone who follows the NBA will remember that Gilbert promised that his Cavs will win a championship before LBJ and the Heat. This is a nice start for Cleveland going into the All-Star break.. NOT! Haha!

As of today, the Heat is 37-14 while the Cavs have a shameful record of 8-44. Yes, King James was the only one who really wanted to win when he was in Cleveland so Mr. Gilbert, your statement that Lebron is a quitter is entirely inaccurate. In fact, it was you and the so-called supporting cast who quit on Lebron when he was carrying the team all by himself.

Good luck for the future, Cavaliers, it may take many lifetimes before you can get a player as good or better than King James. Then again, you may never find someone like him.

Bruno Mars in Cebu & Manila

No, I'm not watching and no, I'm not really a fan (though I like his songs), but I'm posting this here for the benefit of everyone who loves him and who's asking about his concert here.

Forever Forever

Can forever resonate twice
within this gift of song
will the melody I leave behind
serenade you when I am gone

Can forever resonate twice
within the fabric of a father's care
will my two angels know someday
they are my rising sun, my smile, my sweet air

Can forever resonate twice
within a man who has been blessed
through a paternal pillar of inspiration
and a mother's pool of boundless love they lifted
my priceless gifts my wings from above

Can forever resonate twice
within a heart that has loved and lost
to have soared in the winds of a rainbow sky
and look on as the seasons passed me by
without a second thought
I would play Icarus again
if only to have now
what I had then

Forever, forever
this exponential experience of life
I cannot help but gasp in awe
at how a man can have forever twice

Tribute to Brandon Routh

As Warner Bros. has already chosen Henry Cavill to play Superman in the reboot of the franchise, I look back and say thank you to my favorite Superman, Brandon Routh.
