Great Weekend

My weekend was busy but fun. Yesterday, some CTC members went to the house to hang out and to start familiarizing some of the songs for the planned musical. Today, I was able to hang out with one of my closest friends in high school who's now based in London. This is actually the first time we've seen each other after 10 years. We went to Cebu Coliseum to watch the PPV of Manny Pacquiao's fight with Josh Clottey, but since Clottey decided to become a turtle rather than a fighter, we had a lot of time to talk and catch up. Looking forward to seeing Lars again before he goes back to London next week.

Speaking of Clottey, he was a major disappointment in the biggest fight of his career. Yes, he was dancing his way to the ring, and yes, I think he's physically strong. He was just too scared to fight. He was really like a turtle who spent the whole 12 rounds hiding. I expected a lot from him since he has a fairly good record, but it turned out, he was just contented becoming a punching bag for Pacman. How bad was the fight? Pacman threw 1231 punches, while Clottey threw just 399, and a lot of it was during the final round already.

Except for the disappointing fight, my weekend was fun that I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Law Abiding Citizen

At last, I was finally able to watch Paranormal Activity and I was disappointed to say the least. Very. Though I was never a fan of horror movies, it was one movie I was really curious and somewhat excited to watch. Good thing I just viewed it online or else, I would have wasted at least 150 pesos if I watched it at the movie theaters.

Since it was my day off the past 2 days, I bought DVD's for us to watch at home. I bought a Ben 10 movie for my daughter (and my wife), and since I had a difficult time choosing just one DVD to buy for me, I randomly picked Law Abiding Citizen starring Gerard Butler and Jaime Foxx. I loved it. It's kinda violent but the story was fast-paced and the twists were superb. It's got a very low rating at Rottentomatoes.com but for me, it was a good movie. Really worth watching.

Busy Saturday

I slept the whole afternoon yesterday and woke up at around 1:30 AM. I wasn't able to sleep anymore since today is going to be a busy, busy day.

I will take my daughter to school for her examination review, then hopefully I will have a haircut, before going home to rehearse a few songs. Around lunch time, I will be attending a wedding where I will be singing during the pictorials, then proceed to the reception at the biggest hotel in Cebu to sing again. I hope my partner is already well with her cough and colds because I really want to sing with her. I have been singing all my life and I'm most comfortable sharing the stage with someone else rather than going solo as what I've mostly done. Speaking of sharing the stage, I so miss singing with my sis for weddings. She's got a life of her own now with work and graduate studies so I'm left all alone for the wedding gigs.

And yes, after the reception later, I will be going back to work. The work I thought I left behind last Thursday. Hopefully, there will be developments about our transfer soon.

Day-off

Making the most of my day-off today, I slept the whole day, then went to Ermalyn's house in the evening to celebrate the 18th birthday of her friend who couldn't afford a debut. It was so nice of Erms to celebrate the birthday at their place. It was not a party but just a simple get-together for the birthday.

I went home at around 11pm, watched Body of Lies DVD, and before I knew it, it was already early morning. Well, it is early morning. I'm writing this blog while taking a breather from arranging the things in our room. Everything is so messed up especially if you share your room with a six-year old with A LOT of toys, books and school stuff. Our room has been looking like Smokey Mountain (the place, not the singing group) for quite some time now so I just decided to clean everything up while my daughter is asleep and her mother is in the office. And yes, I will be sleeping later this morning. My body clock is used to my shift so I would rather not change it during restdays.

Time to continue my very early morning clean-up.
