With the success of Zack Snyder's Justice League, I look back at the photos I took of the DC Trinity a long time ago in one of our rare Toy Conventions here in Cebu City.

Smallville Ends

The series finale of Smallville, after 10 seasons, was bittersweet for me. The very last scene was the exact scene I pictured out to be when Smallville first started. It was a story of Clark Kent's journey to becoming Superman so it was okay for me to end with Clark ripping his shirt to reveal the costume underneath. No problem there.

The main and perhaps only problem for me was the scenes before that final scene. They made him Superman and they showed a lot of scenes with him as the Man of Steel. When you think about it, it's exciting, especially for those fans who really wanted to see Tom Welling flying and wearing the tights. Now because they decided to show him as Superman, they would have shown him up-close with the costume. The problem was they showed a CGI Superman that's very small on-screen, and whenever they show Tom, they only showed his face with the CGI cape behind him. Yes, Tom Welling never wore the costume and never will. That last shirt rip scene was just a t-shirt. How do I know? Because they never, ever showed Tom wearing the costume. It was all CGI.

 

Disappointing? Maybe to a certain extent, but hey, Smallville's just like a best friend to me. We may have our up's and down's for 10 seasons, but it was definitely a wonderful experience all in all. It's just so sad to know that there will never be a new episode every week.

4 Episodes more and everything will come to an end.. ironically, the end of Smallville means the beginning of a new chapter in Clark's life, to finally become the Hero he's destined to be..

Tribute to Brandon Routh

As Warner Bros. has already chosen Henry Cavill to play Superman in the reboot of the franchise, I look back and say thank you to my favorite Superman, Brandon Routh.

Henry Cavill is the New Man of Steel

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the NEW SUPERMAN, Henry Cavill.. As much as I love Brandon Routh, I'm also excited as to what Henry can bring to the character as Warner Bros. reboots the Superman franchise once again, scheduled for a Decemer 2012 release.

Remembering Chris

Today, Christopher Reeve would have been 58 years old. Yes, he didn't really get along with some of his co-stars but who cares. I grew up with Chris as my Superman just as my daughter knows Brandon Routh as her Superman. Compared to Chris, I think Brandon fits the role better, but Chris will always be the Superman for a lot of people.

Happy Birthday, Superman.

Thank you for making us believe a man can fly.

Ryan

In September, the last season of Smallville will begin. As a super fan of the Superman mythology, I know Season 10 will be epic. Well, it better be. It will be 22 episodes of Clark finally fulfilling his destiny to become the hero the world has known for the past 78 years.

Looking back at the past 9 seasons, there have been certain episodes that stood out. One of which is Ryan, Episode 8 of Season 2. It was the second and final appearance of Ryan James, the first keeper of Clark's secret outside of his family. He first appeared in Season 1 in the episode entitled Stray. It was in that episode where the song Superman by Five for Fighting was first heard on Smallville.
