Absentee Employee

For someone who's always criticizing everyone in the office for not following certain policies, he's a model employee-for-not-following-policies himself.

For the past 2 days, I have been working for 12.5 hours because he has been absent. I don't mind him not coming to work, but we've always had the policy to inform the office before your shift (2 hours at least) so we would be able to cover up. The other day, we didn't receive any notice from him so I texted him more than 2 hours after the start of his shift and asked if he's coming to work. I received a reply from him saying that he sent a text earlier, and that maybe I just didn't receive it. Yesterday, I received a text less than an hour before his shift that he's still sick and can't make it to the office. Today, no word from him. I already sent 3 messages, no reply. This will be my 3rd straight day of doing overtime and it's not funny anymore. I have not been able to spend time or even just talk to my family anymore because everyone's asleep when I get home, and they're still sleeping when I leave for work. This guy should have followed the simple protocol and informed us so we can make the necessary arrangements and adjustments. The only reason acceptable that he's not able to send even a single text message is that he's either dead or dying.

The wolf is slowly shedding the sheep's skin he's been hiding in the past months. He's showing his true colors. The people didn't even like him when he was still a sheep, how much more now when they realize that he's a wolf.

Another Wolf

I just can't understand why people have to pull down others in order to pull themselves up. Can't they just mind their own business? Like this guy who's trying to project an image of someone very confident, very superior, yet he's pulling others, his own teammates, down by badmouthing them. I always believe that action speak heaps than words, and by what he's doing, mudslinging his own officemates, his own teammates, he's showing to the world what he really is.

Since he's the oldest in the team in terms of age, experience and tenure, I would have expected him to assist us those who came after him. There are times that he's showing that he's trying to help us, but after learning everything, I can't help but think that the assistance he supposedly gave us before was just a part of his ploy to destroy us.

Is this guy insecure? I'm starting to think he is.

I just discovered another wolf.

*sigh*

Meddlesome People

One month old in the company and I have a Notice to Explain by our newly-appointed Operations Coordinator. The reason? Somebody reported to him that I used a flash drive in my computer which "would eventually bring risk and possibly damage the security of our network and machines."

There are actually two reasons why I used a flash drive: to keep myself preoccupied in the most boring shift of all and not succumb to the temptation of sleeping, a temptation most of the people around me are doing everyday, or should I say every night. The second reason is because a lot of so-called office mates connect their flash drives, iPods & PSPs to their computers, that I thought it was okay to do so.

I already submitted my explanation, and I am ready to face whatever consequence will be given to me. My conscience is clear. A lot of people are sleeping and watching streaming movies within the shift, while I'm doing my darnest best to be wide awake, and because of that, I get reported. I didn't even report the sleeping people because I just want to do my work and not get involved with other people's businesses. Now that they've made the first move, I will defend myself, and if I have to go down, I will bring these people down. Some people are just so insecure.

Right now in our shift, there only 11 of us and since the O.C. didn't say who made the report, I consider everyone here as wolves in sheep's clothing.

Trust no one. I'm learning that the hard way.

No more Mr. Nice Guy.
