Chasing my Dreams

Today is the start of hopefully a new life for me. I am grateful to the BPO industry for the 7 rollercoaster years, but I've had enough. I haven't been really lucky with that industry, and after 7 years, I'm finally saying goodbye to it..for now? Haha. If I can help it, I'd want to say goodbye to it forever.

When I left the call center industry a a few weeks ago, people have been asking me about my plans and where I'm going. I told them I finally have the courage to pursue my dreams. Some of my dreams, at least.

Now after almost a month, I'm finally starting a new path. Only time can tell if I will be living a dream with with this new thing, but I'm braver now to pursue this. It still won't be easy, but at least it's something I know I want.

I can do this! :)

23. Explain your life plan for the next month, then the next year, then three years, then five years.

We'll be going to Manila next month and though my wife has planned a full itinerary for us, I hope to find time to meet up with friends I've known for so long but haven't met in person yet. I also hope that our rehearsals will go smoothly next month.

I hope to be back in the academe next year, or even this year if possible. And in the next three and five years, I hope to be working still in the academe, with hopefully another son or daughter, and still in theatre. That would be the dream. Yes, I do believe that dreams come true.

9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see myself as a proud parent to my 18 year old daughter who have been everything I dreamed about. I see us in a land far from the Philippines where I don't have to turn the aircon and electric fan at the same time, I'm wearing 3 layers of clothing and I'm not sweating. I see myself as someone who's not rich, but is contented and relatively successful.

Day 05 - Something you hope to do in your life

One thing that I really hope to do in this lifetime is to be able to do something big for at least one person, to be able to make a positive difference and help change the life of that person, much like what the Touhy family has done to the life of Michael Oher which became the inspiration and the basis for the movie, The Blind Side. I am trying my best to make a positive difference in the lives of many people in my own little way everyday. For a change, I hope to do at least one major thing, that big life changer.

Hope and Dream

Day 29 of the 30 Day Challenge - Hopes, Dreams and Plans for the next 365 Days

My family and I will hopefully be visiting Hong Kong a couple of months from now to de-stress and get away from the pressures of work for a few days. If I'll be resigning from work before that trip, that means I have to look for another job when we get back. If I'll be allowed to go on that short vacation, then at least I would be able to go back to my job refreshed, and ready again to face the challenges that await me.

Speaking of work, I'm kinda hoping to find a higher paying job either here in the Philippines, or I'll be forced to look for one in another country. Leaving my family to work in a foreign land is something I don't want to do, but something I must do if I want a brighter future for us all. I need to do that so we can continue processing my wife's application for Australia. We started but we stopped since we ran out of funds. What we already paid (a really big amount already) will go to waste if we just go in another direction.

Also, since we've already started our informal rehearsals for our musical, I hope and pray that this will continue and that a few months from now, we may be able to successfully present this production. Even if it's sort of a hobby for us, it also entails a lot of hard work and sacrifices for everyone, but I'm sure it will all be worth it once we're already up there on stage.
