Theatre Journeys with Mary Justine, Ingrid & Corina Lorei

With new to the Kumu platform, I experimented on a talk-show type stream with 3 amazing women as we talked about their theatre journeys. The whole episode was over 3 hours including their songs, so I had to cut and edit it before sharing it in my YouTube Channel so I won't be tagged for copyright issues.

Sharing the episode here with the hope that the younger generation will be able to learn from them. This episode is for those who are into theatre, for those who love theatre, even those who don't like theatre.

Journey Live in Manila

A million Thank you's to Sir Egay of the Bisdaks for giving me a limited copy of Journey Live in Manila Double DVD exclusively distributed by Walmart. I've been an Arnel Pineda and Journey fan for so long, but because of our tight budget, I haven't been able to buy any of Journey's albums. I was just contented with watching their vids and listening to their songs on YouTube.

Now, I don't only have my own Journey DVD, and not only do I have a special copy that's not sold here, I have the video of one of Journey's most special shows. Although they've been performing all-around the world, JLIM was the first time Journey performed in the Philippines, and the first grand homecoming of hometown hero, Arnel Pineda.

Watching the whole concert, a total of 2 hours, 25 minutes and 25 seconds, I wasn't able to control my tears. It was a very proud moment for AP performing in front of his kababayans and a prouder moment not just for the 30,000 Filipinos who watched it live, but for all the Filipinos all throughout the globe. Here's the guy who once slept on the sidewalks of Manila, who sold bottles for money to buy food, performing as a member of one of the greatest rock bands of all-time. Watching the video, you can see that the audience was not only composed of Filipinos, but also of Journey and AP fans from all over the globe. And the band didn't disappoint, especially AP who sang his hearts out and bared his soul in every song.

Day 11 of the 30 Day Song Challenge - A song from your favorite band

Faithfully by Journey is such a beautiful song when they released it in 1983 with original lead singer Steve Perry, but I feel that the song is more heartfelt and has more soul now as sung by Arnel Pineda. The song describes the relationship of a "music man" on the road and the difficulties of raising and maintaining a family, and a couple becoming like two strangers having to fall in love again, and at the same time, staying faithful while touring.

Don't Stop Believin'

Even when he was not 100% (and you can hear it in his voice), one of the many prides of the Philippines, Arnel Pineda, still rocked during this performance when they guested in Oprah a few months back.

Journey Rocks Oprah

One of the many Prides of the Philippines, Arnel Pineda, and his band, Journey, totally rocked The Oprah Show recently. Again, like all other shows where Arnel is a guest, it brought me to tears and at the same time, uplifted my spirits. They opened the show with 'Don't Stop Believin' and closed the show with 'Faithfully.'

AP's story is a real-life fairy tale, and an inspiration to all. True enough, it was announced by Oprah during the show that "Arnel's story will hit the big screen in 2010, entitled Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey."

A movie?! About AP's life?! Woohoo! Can't wait!
