Portrait of My Love

Since today is the last day of the Love Month, I'd like to share my one take cover of one of my most fave love songs of all time.

May the month of March be better for all of us.

Castiel's Love

"When Jack was dying, I made a deal to save him. The... The price was my life. When I experienced a moment of true happiness, the Empty would be summoned and it would take me forever.  I always wondered, ever since I took that burden, that curse, I wondered what it could be, what... what my true happiness could even look like. I never found an answer. Because the one thing I want... ...it's something I know I can't have.  But I think I know... I think I know now. Happiness isn't in the having. It's in just being. It's in just saying it."

"I know how you see yourself, Dean. You see yourself the same way our enemies see you. You're destructive and you're angry and you're broken. You're "Daddy's Blunt Instrument." And you think hate and anger, that's... that's what drives you. That's who you are. It's not. And everyone who knows you sees it. Everything you have ever done, the good and the bad, you have done for love. You raised your little brother for love. You fought for this whole world for love. That is who you are.... You're the most caring man on Earth. You are the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know...You know, ever since we met and ever since I pulled you out of Hell, knowing you has changed me. Because you cared, I cared. I cared about you. I cared about Sam. I cared about Jack. I cared about the whole world because of you...  You changed me, Dean."

Finished My Letter for My Daughter

This virus really has made me so paranoid for the past 6 months, and the more so now that I am reporting to the office everyday from Monday to Friday. Instead of avoiding potential contact with people carrying the virus, our office decided that we should face it head on. Yes, there are measures taken like masks and face shields and alcohol and physical distancing, but still IT IS DAMN SCARY.

Speaking of scary and paranoia, I just finished making my letter for my daughter which I hope to read to her during her 18th birthday 4 months from now. If ever I won't be around by then, I made sure to (1) leave a copy of the letter somewhere where they can easily find it if I'm not around, and (2) I saved a copy of the letter here in my blog, scheduling it to be automatically published on January 6, 2021.

I don't want to die yet, and leave my daughter, but I will do my best to be prepared in case the inevitable happen. This virus has really changed everyone's lives, at the same time claiming a lot of lives in the process.

"If I die, let me die. Let him(her) live.
Bring him(her) home.."

Remembering Martin Richard

As we hear the news of the Boston bombing suspect finally arrested this morning (and the other suspect killed yesterday), we remember the victims of the cowardly act of terrorism, most especially Martin Richard, a cute 8-year old boy who made this poster in school last year. Martin was able to give his dad a hug when the father crossed the finished line, before the explosion happened. So heartbreaking!

Love is never blind ♥

There was a blind girl who was filled with animosity and despised the world. She didn't have many friends, just a boyfriend who loved her deeply, like no one else. She always used to say that she'd marry him if she could see him.

One day, someone donated her a pair of eyes.

And that's when she finally saw her boyfriend. She was astonished to see that her boyfriend was blind. He told her, "You can see me now, can we get married?" She replied, "And do what? We'd never be happy. I have my eye sight now, but you're still blind. It won't work out, I'm sorry."

With a tear in his eye and a smile on his face, he meekly said, "I understand. I just want you to always be happy. Take care of yourself, and my eyes."

Day 9: Your definition of love.

This is not my own definition, but this is a definition I read somewhere, a long time ago, and perfectly summarizes what I've always believed about love..

Love can see more and it's willing to see less ♥

7. Think of the last person you hugged. What would you do if they vanished completely?

The last person I hugged was my daughter. I hugged her last night before going to work. She's everything to me and if ever she'll vanish, then my life will vanish with her. It sounds cliche, but she's my life and losing her means losing my life.

4. What do you think it means to be in love?

For me, being in love means wanting someone to be happy even if her happiness means you are not a part of it. And contrary to what a lot of people believe, I believe that love sees more and it's willing to see less.

Day 02 - Something you love about yourself

A big 360 degree turn from yesterday's topic. Haha.

I am perhaps the most imperfect being on this planet, and there are probably more things that I hate about myself more than I love about myself. If I can choose just one, the thing that I love about myself is that I care. Yes, I care too much at times which almost always ends up badly, but hey, that's something about myself that I just can't change. If I care, I really care with a pinch of love thrown in there with it.

Let me say it one more time, the words I keep inside. This heart of mine has something to reveal that you're always in my prayer, and this time to you I swear. There's nothing that I won't do for you, I care..

My Little Girl

During lunch today, I was touched and moved to tears by my 7-year old daughter.

Kate: Pa, do you know who my favorite star and singer is?

Me: Uhm.. Who?

Kate: You :)

That was so unexpected, but it certainly made my day.

*sigh*

If only she could just stay a little girl forever...
